Shannon has a background that spans healthcare, higher education, food service, and start-ups, she found her true calling in economic development while pursuing her master’s degree in organizational psychology.
Shannon’s expertise and dedication led her to the position of Director of Small Business Development at the Hartford Chamber of Commerce in Connecticut. During her time there, she exhibited exceptional leadership and vision, ultimately earning recognition with the prestigious 40 Under 40 award from the Hartford Business Journal in 2019. This accolade underscored her commitment to making a positive impact on the local business landscape and solidified her reputation as a rising star in her field.
In 2020, Shannon took her passion and expertise to new heights when she joined the Buda Economic Development Corporation (EDC) as an EDC Specialist. Within a remarkably short span of time, her outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication saw her rise through the ranks, earning her a promotion to Assistant Director. In this role, she continued to drive economic development initiatives, working tirelessly to create opportunities and foster growth for businesses and communities alike.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Shannon embodies a zest for life that is truly inspiring. Despite her busy schedule, she finds joy in the simple pleasures, such as leisurely walks with her dog, trivia nights at Meridian, and catching up with friends over coffee at Embrace the Grind. She also enjoys the great outdoors, frequently embarking on hiking adventures with her partner, Tyler, and actively participating in the vibrant sports community as a member of Austin Sports and Social Volleyball.
