The medical center aims to address the growing healthcare needs of Buda and the surrounding community, offering a full range of services, including a full-service hospital, primary care, and an integrated multi-specialty medical clinic. The integrated model of care emphasizes greater care coordination through a single electronic medical record, ultimately enhancing the patient experience, avoiding unnecessary medical tests, and reducing the time spent in the hospital or clinic. 

The establishment of the medical center is in response to the rapid growth of Hays County, which has been designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The collaboration between Baylor Scott & White and the City of Buda reflects a mutual commitment to the health and wellness of the community, with the medical center estimated to have created 150 jobs.
