Exciting News for Buda: US Foods Expands, Creating Jobs and Driving Economic Growth

The Buda Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is proud to announce that US Foods, one of the nation’s leading foodservice distributors, has chosen to expand its operations in Buda. This exciting development will bring 165 new jobs to the community and a more than $120 million investment, further strengthening the local economy and solidifying Buda’s place as a key player in the Central Texas business landscape.

A Strategic Decision for Growth

After evaluating several potential locations across the country, US Foods selected Buda for its extension, thanks in part to the $3 million in competitive incentives provided by the Buda EDC, the City of Buda, Hays County, and the Texas Enterprise Fund. Additionally, US Foods recognized the region’s tremendous growth potential, making Buda the ideal location for its continued development. The project will add 170,000 square feet to US Foods’ existing facility in Buda, and the expansion is expected to be completed by 2027.

Economic Impact for Buda and Beyond

The expansion will not only serve the growing foodservice market in Central Texas but will also increase US Foods’ ability to support Austin’s well-known food scene. The additional distribution space will enhance their capacity along the I-35 corridor.

Bright Future for Buda

At the Buda Economic Development Corporation, we remain committed to fostering a thriving business environment and ensuring that Buda continues to be an attractive location for growth and opportunity. The expansion of US Foods is just one example of how collaboration between local leaders, businesses, and state partners can result in positive benefits for the community. This addition is just the beginning of a bright future for Buda, and we are proud to be part of this exciting journey.
