Job Summary 

Buda Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is seeking a detail-oriented part-time/contract Events Coordinator & Marketing Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in event planning and project management.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the team in planning, coordinating, and executing events that promote Buda EDC’s mission, as well as developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase awareness and participation in our programs and initiatives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Event Planning & Coordination 

  • Plan, organize, and execute a variety of events, including workshops, seminars, networking events, and conferences. 
  • Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and partners to ensure successful event execution. 
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, AV equipment, and other necessary arrangements. 
  • Develop event timelines, budgets, and post-event reports to evaluate success and areas for improvement. 
  • Coordinate event promotion, registration, and follow-up communications with participants. Marketing & Communications 
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events and increase engagement with our target audience. 
  • Assist in creating and managing content for social media, promotional materials, email campaigns, and other marketing materials as needed. 

    Administrative Support 
  • Maintain event-related records, including participant lists, budgets, and vendor contracts. 
  • Provide general administrative support as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning, marketing, or a related role. 

Skills 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and content management systems. 
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Other Requirements 

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events. 
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
